About Bluetooth Detector
Bluetooth Detector publishes plain-English guides for one job: finding a lost earbud, pair of headphones, case or other Bluetooth device. Each guide answers one question, and answers it in the first paragraph.
How guides are written
- The maker’s method first. Most earbuds and headphones come with an official way to find them, such as a companion app or a phone’s built-in finding network. Guides start there, with what it can and can’t do for your model.
- Official sources. Steps and limits come from each device maker’s own support pages, and how Bluetooth works comes from the Bluetooth standards body. Every guide links to its sources.
- Honest about limits. A device that is switched off or out of battery usually sends no Bluetooth signal, so no app can detect it. Guides say so, and say what you can still do.
The app
Guides recommend Bluetooth Finder & Detector, an iPhone app for following a device’s Bluetooth signal, where it can help. Its description comes from its App Store listing. The app is made by the people who publish this site.
